Venice Beach Arts Walk

This is by far one of the coolest events I've been to here in LA. My good friend Mike told me about it so a few of us headed down to the Arts Walk which is right in our neighborhood, Venice Beach. They had a check in area where they had different tents to try different foods from the area (like a mini-jazz fest) and a stage where they had some local artists play.

Then they had buses that took you to different areas of the neighborhood (or you could really just walk) and they gave you a map to different local artist's homes in the area where they showed off their art- but it really ended up being more about the homes than the art. What I liked best about the event was how close and personal the artists were, talking about their art, how they got started and how they created their different pieces.

After the walk, we strolled down Abbott Kinney which is like the Cali version of Magazine Street and walked into different gallery openings. Again, we met some cool artists and the one below was a girl Joey, from the Philippines and the guy in the pic is again my friend Mike. If you haven't been to this event, its highly recommended! Great time was had by all...
