Meet the Muson's!

It was such a pleasure to finally meet some of Mike's family! His brother & family were in town for a few days painting the town red! His brother and sister-in-law used to live in California years ago so it was fun for them to come back and enjoy the Hollywood Bowl, go to a Dodger's game, hang on Venice Beach and so much more! This is a picture of us at La Cabana-- an authentic Mexican restaurant here on the westside! Its me, Steve, Jen, Holly, Katie and Mike! Too funny- right next door you can find good ole Louisiana Fried Chicken! I felt right at home! Next time, I am going to eat at this place!

Me and jerson

This is us on our last night in Vegas. It's been a really long week-
but we rocked it! More good stuff to come...

More TextingForward Meetings in Las Vegas

Here is a picture of us in the lobby of the beautiful MGM Grand- Signature Towers. There are 3 towers and they each have their own vibe, decor and smell- if you can believe that. It's been a great week so far and we are so PUMPED and excited about the incredible things that lay ahead of us.
This is a picture of us at Brio the night before last in Town Square- which is an amazing shopping center here in Vegas. They have everything from Gucci to Yogurtland... I can spend hours shopping in there! There weren't too many people there though- so I hope that the economy picks up and people start to spend some money because that place is awesome! Here is a pic of us eating last night at Emeril's restaurant and no, not in New Orleans (I wish!) - this restaurant is in MGM Grand here in Vegas. It was a super lovely dinner though (my swordfish was the bomb!) and the deserts were delectable! Next time, I am going to order the Banana Creme Pie that Shawayne and Jerson got- it was heavenly! Miss and love you guys! Stay tuned!

Jersons place in Vegas!

As you know we are here for meetings in las Vegas this week! It's been
very tiring but very productive and lots of wins this week! I'll share
more with you on that later... Just wanted to show you jersons condo
that he owns here an how beautiful it is!!! It ls definitely very cozy
and the amenities are awesome- especially the gym! Definitely a nice
little perk!!!

TextingForward Meetings in Las Vegas

Hey guys... just wanted to let you all know that we are in Las Vegas right now with the TextingForward team! We have had some amazing meetings already and we have a few more to go. I arrived here on Monday AM (had to get up at 5am to catch my flight!) and returning to LA on Friday afternoon. The above picture is me, Jerson in front of the MGM Signature Tower where I am staying on the strip.  Last night, we went to get some Indian food here and it was a fantastic meal... a working meal, but the food was great- and the company too. The above pic is the 4 of us.  Just wanted to blog a few pics so you can meet my team and will send an update towards the end of the week! Hope everyone is doing well and miss and love you guys! Now.... off to the pool to get some sun-- just kidding!

Concerts at Santa Monica Pier

If you live in Los Angeles, this is definitely a MUST-DO! During the summer, they have a concert series at the Santa Monica Pier with free concerts that are more about hanging out with friends than they are about the music. Here is a shot of the pier at sunset and then the music starts about 7pm and goes until 10pm. Everyone brings blankets, candles, food and beverages of choice and set up south of the pier. On this night, we brought my dad's famous lumpia, made appetizers with crackers, brie cheese, a mint leaf topped with sliced fig (yummy!), sandwiches and some awesome chocolate chip cookies! We biked from the house which took about 30 minutes-- not a bad ride there, but not so fun riding home! There are only a few concerts left.. I hope I can make at least one more!

Learning to cook over skype!

Just had to post some pictures of Kevin skyping with dad to have him show us how to cook this delicious sea bass that we bought at the farmer's market! We wanted to cook it whole, like mom and dad cook it, so we can make sure we get ALL the meat we can! It was our first time grilling it like this, so dad walked us through where to cut it and how to prepare it.
Here is what it looked like on the grill. We bought some eggplant too and just drizzled some olive oil on it and salt and pepper! We made some rice, and the secret vinegar and garlic potion and the entire meal took about 15 minutes to make! It was delicious.... thanks dad! We even ate with our hands! I felt like I was back home again :)

The Cove- Go See It!

If you can spare some time and go see this movie if it comes to your area, please show your support and go see the movie! It will open your eyes to these horrific events that are going on in Japan. Just a word of caution- some scenes are really hard to watch. Kudos to these film makers that have devoted their time to increase awareness of these happenings and congratulations to the huge strides they have already made. Keep fighting the fight!

Hiking Finger Rock

One morning, Kfed and I woke up at 5am to hike Finger Rock. Originally, we planned to do another hike but we changed our mind and man- this hike was MUCH harder than I thought it was going to be. We only did about 3 miles and unfortunately, didn't make it all the way to the top but next time, we will plan for this hike and bring more food and water. The hardest part about this whole thing was actually opening our eyes and rolling out of bed! But once we did, it was awesome being on the trail and hiking before 6am. The heat rolls in pretty early too so you have to hike this early to beat the heat.
The one thing I love about hiking in Tucson is the greenery (its actually greener than you think!) and the cool plants growing in the desert. I love the color of the prickly pear (the magenta color) and I am really just mesmerized by the cool cactus and other plants growing in the desert. We finally got close to where we could get a good shot of "Finger Rock" and next time I am there, we are going to go back and hike this (like a weekend day when we have a few hours to kill). The hike is definitely challenging and can't imagine how much harder it will be as you get closer to the top! Its a great workout and really nice on the way up since you are sheltered by the big rocks and trees from the sun (you are in a canyon). But bring your hat, shades and sunscreen for on the way out when the sun starts to rise up!
Kevin got a little scare from this horny toad that jumped out while we were on our way out! I'd never seen one before but this one let me get super close! They look sooo cool!Click here to see more pics from our hike!

US Surf Open

This was the first time I've attended a live surf event since living in California- isn't that ridiculous? They happen like every weekend... but hopefully I can attend more of these because its absolutely amazing! This competition was the US Surf Open and it lasted about 5 days and I made it out to the last day. Kelly Slater unfortunately didn't make it to the finals but we did get to see him surf! This is a picture of us at the competition- Annie, Jen, me, Cordia and Kate... good times! Next time we go, we have to go SUPER early (6am) and clear the schedule for the day because its definitely one of those events where you want to get a space, have your cooler full of ice and some snacks and stay to watch the sunset!

Friday Nights at LACMA!

If you haven't had a chance to make it to LACMA on Friday nights, you need to pen it in the calendar soon! There are different events every Friday, but this night when we went was an amazing Jazz Band! Above is a picture of the lighting exhibit that is at LACMA right now so its a bonus to have this in sight while we were listening to the sounds of jazz!
Usually, the events are inside LACMA, but this one was outside. It started at 6pm but if you are reading this and want to go- GO EARLY! We got there right at 6pm and all the chairs outside were already taken! Definitely go early and bring some wine and snacks to enjoy! This is a picture of Onna, Jack, Me and Paul.
Also at LACMA is a tupperware exhibit- yes, tupperware! Its incredible actually. We ran through it like little kids and it was just mezmerizing! You have to go check this out... you won't be disappointed!
