@ Home in Pensacola with my Family

Just got to Pensacola after a really long day of travel and we are now able to have some fun (after much rest). Mom and dad just got a new basketball hoop so we have been shooting some hoops for as long as we can stand the heat!
We took a trip to Chuck E Cheese (we know you are jealous!) and it felt like we were there for about 10 hours-- all had a fun time and I ate wayyy too much pizza!
The Lovin boys are feeling at home and the kids are having fun playing together. But there are WAYYY too many boys in the house! Ha... Will post more later. We miss and love all of you guys who aren't here with us.

Our trip to Pcola

Well- after 3 plane rides- we finally made it to Pensacola. Our flight from DC to Pcola had to emergency land in Atlanta because something with the left wing was faulty. Not sure if we will ever do a red eye flight again because the WHOLE next day you feel worthless. It was really tough-- but I must say that the kids did great. We are going to reward them tomorrow with some fun at Chuck E Cheese. Yeah- I am REALLY looking forward to it ;)

On our way!

We are on the plane safe and sound and on our way! All of our bellies
are full and everyone is happy! Yay! We will be in pensacola in the
morning! See you soon...

Seriously? This is unbelieveable!!! BP- please make it stop! Why aren't you sending more people out to clean up this mess you made!

The BP Oil Spill Makes us ALL sick... literally.

I was just appalled by this video link that my brother Roger sent to me. Please play it and share it with friends and family to help increase the awareness of what is going on on the Gulf coast.

I started this blog back in 2005 when I was directly affected by Hurricane Katrina and I feel like this is the Katrina of 2010. The only difference is that Katrina came and went- and we could rebuild. Lord knows when we will be able to recover after this disaster- it will be decades until we come out from underneath this one. Ok- I take it back... this is NOTHING like Katrina. This is much worse and its happening to my hometowns- both Pensacola, FL and New Orleans, LA and everywhere in between and then some- and who knows how much farther it will travel.

I am so saddened by what is happening and in 3 days- I will be back in my hometown to see for my own eyes what is going on. I want to volunteer but those who are already certified (like my sister who got certified back in May) still have yet to be called to help clean up these beaches. Can you believe that there are thousands of volunteers ready to help and instead- we are watching tar balls come up on shore with not a soul in sight-- one ready to clean up anyway. Here is another one worth watching:

It's so crazy that these parents are allowing their kids to play on tar balled beaches or swim in what seems to be boiling water in the ocean. Have they turned on the tv at all or picked up a paper or just listened to anyone in or around those communities? It makes me sick just watching this... and I have a feeling those people exposing themselves to these harsh chemicals will get sick as well. My heart goes out to everyone that has been effected by this awful spill. I pray every day that they will find a solution and stop this oil from leaking asap.

Happy Father's Day!

We had a great weekend this past weekend starting with a really nice dinner at the South Coast Winery on Saturday night! It was just Jeff and I and we had such a nice date night :)
The next morning, the kids came home and we opened presents!  Jeff got some great presents today and he deserves it for being such a great dad! Afterwards, we got ready and headed to Doheny Park to meet up with Jeff's family and celebrate his Uncle Chuck's 50th Birthday! It was such a lovely day for having a picnic. Happy father's day to all dads out there!

Happy Fathers Day!

Just wanted to say Happy Fathers Day to Dad, Dan, Jeff and all the
other dads out there! Thanks for all you do for us! We love you!

Just wanted to give a shout out to all you guys who came to help us with the move, and everyone else for your support from far away! We really couldn't have done it without you guys-- really--- we can't tell you enough how much you guys mean to us and how much we appreciate everyone taking time out of their busy schedules to help us... And to drive all the way down here Shay and Rog!

Everyone did so much to help us- packing, cleaning, moving, unpacking and cleaning some more and I couldn't ask for better family or friends. I love you guys and will see you mom, dad and Butler family in a few weeks!
